On Saturday, October 26th, SolBridge International School of Business’ Startup Center proudly hosted the in house competition to select the students that will be representing for the qualifying round for the NIBS Business Case Competition. The NIBS (Network of International Business Schools) Case Competition is one of the most prestigious international business competitions, offering students a unique opportunity to apply their business knowledge to real-world scenarios. It brings together top business students from around the globe to solve complex, dynamic business cases under pressure.

The case topic, ‘Transforming Blue Bird: Indonesia's top mobility provider's push for sustainable growth and digitalisation in the post-covid’, reflects SolBridge’s commitment to educating students and encouraging them to engage in the sustainability conversation. It aims to raise awareness about the increasing importance of sustainable practices in the mobility industry and inspires students to think critically about global environmental challenges, aligning with the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).

Students were guided and evaluated by 4 judges from SolBridge: Prof. Ronny Estrella, Prof. Gilbert Tumibay, Prof. Shijith Kumar, and Start Up Center Coordinator Yuliya Li.

Sung Jae Kim, a 3rd year student shares his experience of the event:

"Being my first experience in a business case competition, I initially thought three hours would feel long. But once we got started, the time flew by, making every moment exciting and rewarding! Immersing ourselves in the topic, we shared ideas passionately and engaged in discussions with our teammates. In just three hours, we managed to create all the presentation materials and develop our ideas, and by the time we reached the presentation, there was barely any time to feel nervous!

My teammates, TaeHwan Kim, Kim Vadim, and Bakhodir Toyirov, delivered the entire presentation seamlessly, and I contributed a few responses during the Q&A session. The questions were refreshing, and hearing them directly from the judges made it such an amazing experience. Seeing familiar faces among them took the pressure off, too. This qualifying round really motivated me to take part in more events throughout my school life. It was exhilarating to engage in something so intensively over such a short period, and above all, I remember enjoying every moment of the competition. Additionally, collaborating with TaeHwan, Vadim, and Bakhodir allowed me to learn so much, and with such strong teamwork, I’m already looking forward to participating in another competition with them"

Congratulations to the winning team (Deroubaix Joey, Dovrugbek Sadikov, Bektursun Kartaev and Saadat Zulpukarova)!
