Elmis Rodriguez Rodriguez, a freshman from Mexico, proudly represented SolBridge on the national stage at the Korea Professional Bowling Association (2024 한국프로볼러 선발전) competition. Wearing his SolBridge t-shirt, he showcased his skills and felt empowered, as if the shirt gave him wings to soar through the competition. He shares his exciting experience:

"From November 4th to November 6th, I had the incredible opportunity to participate in a highly anticipated bowling tournament that brought together a diverse group of passionate players from across South Korea as part of the Korea Professional Bowling Association. The competition, which lasted three days, was a remarkable experience that not only allowed me to test my skills but also to connect with a community of bowlers all striving for the same goal: to become professionals on the world stage.

The tournament itself was intense and demanding. With 15 games scheduled each day, the event spanned over eight hours of continuous bowling. The sheer number of games was challenging, but it was also an exhilarating test of endurance, focus, and mental fortitude. Over the course of the three days, my body and mind were pushed to their limits, but every moment was filled with excitement and a sense of purpose. I knew that each roll of the ball, each frame, was an opportunity to showcase my skills and grow as a player.

The tournament was more than just a competition; it was a celebration of bowling as a sport. Participants came from a wide range of backgrounds: university and college students, office workers, and aspiring professionals. We all shared the same passion for bowling and the same dream of reaching the top. The camaraderie among the participants was one of the highlights of the event. It was inspiring to see so many people—from different walks of life—come together for a common goal. The atmosphere was charged with energy and sportsmanship, and it was motivating to be a part of that community.

With 185 participants in total, the competition was fierce. Yet, despite the high level of talent, I was thrilled to finish in 48th place. While I didn’t claim a top spot, the experience of competing alongside such skilled players was invaluable. I learned a great deal about my own game, including areas where I could improve and aspects where I excel. Being ranked among the top participants was an accomplishment in itself, but what mattered most was the journey of growth that I underwent during the tournament.

One of the most rewarding aspects of the competition was receiving an award as a semi-professional bowler on the worldwide stage. This recognition was a testament to the hard work and dedication I’ve put into my training. It was a moment of validation for me, proving that all the hours spent practicing and perfecting my technique were paying off. I was proud to represent my university, knowing that I had given my best effort throughout the tournament. It was a moment of personal pride and achievement that will stay with me for years to come.

As I reflect on this tournament, I am filled with a sense of gratitude and excitement for the future. The experience has only fueled my desire to continue improving and to push myself further in the sport of bowling. I’m already looking forward to the next competition, eager to test myself against new challenges and continue on the path toward becoming a professional bowler."
