SolBridge Welcomes Visiting Faculty from VIVES University College Through International Staff Mobility Program
SolBridge International School of Business proudly welcomed
Professor Carine Coene and Professor Valérie Rits from VIVES University College
as part of the International Staff Mobility Program held in Daejeon, South
Korea, from May 6 to May 20, 2026.
The two-week academic exchange reflected SolBridge’s continued commitment to fostering global collaboration, intercultural learning, and international academic partnerships. This initiative directly aligns with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 17: Partnerships for the Goals) by expanding inclusive, global learning opportunities through strategic international cooperation.
During their visit, Professors Coene and Rits engaged with
students, faculty members, and university staff through a variety of lectures,
workshops, and collaborative activities designed to encourage knowledge sharing
and global perspectives.
Throughout the mobility program, the visiting professors contributed to several academic sessions focusing on ethics, sustainability, responsible entrepreneurship, and experiential learning. Their teaching activities provided students with valuable opportunities to explore contemporary global business challenges while gaining insights into European educational approaches and international business practices.
As part of the experiential learning activities, students
also participated in an interactive and educational board game designed to
introduce the principles of the circular economy and sustainable business
decision-making. Unlike traditional lectures, this activity created a dynamic
and engaging environment where participants actively learned by managing
resources, making strategic business decisions, and responding to real-world
challenges in a simulated market setting. This hands-on experience strongly
supports SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production, as it
encourages students to think critically about resource efficiency,
sustainability, and responsible business practices in real-world contexts.
In addition to classroom teaching, the program also included cross-cultural lectures introducing French, Spanish, and broader international business perspectives. These sessions encouraged meaningful intercultural dialogue and helped strengthen students’ understanding of global communication and cultural diversity in today’s business environment.
The visit further promoted faculty networking and
institutional collaboration through meetings, discussions, and knowledge
exchange initiatives with SolBridge faculty and staff. Such engagements play an
important role in strengthening academic partnerships and creating future
opportunities for collaborative projects, student exchanges, and joint
initiatives between institutions.
The enthusiasm, professionalism, and innovative teaching methods demonstrated by Professors Coene and Rits greatly enriched the SolBridge academic community. Their contributions created impactful learning experiences for students while reinforcing the value of international cooperation in higher education.
SolBridge extends its sincere appreciation to Professor
Carine Coene and Professor Valérie Rits for their meaningful contributions and
inspiring engagement throughout the program. The university looks forward to
continuing its partnership with VIVES University College and expanding future
opportunities for global academic collaboration.
As a globally oriented business school, SolBridge remains
dedicated to creating international learning experiences that prepare students
to become responsible and culturally aware global leaders.
